This is the Transfargarasan highway in Romania. This road is also known as Ceaușescu’s Folly. 55.7 miles of twisting 2 lane blacktop motoring heaven. Built by the communist dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu to move troops across Count Dracula’s beloved Carpathian mountains, this has become a place of automotive pilgrimage for motoring enthusiasts. Featured on the BBC TV show TOP GEAR, this is one on my bucket list of dream roads.
